Information we collect

Depending on how you use Local Host, we may collect:

• Contact and account information: name, email address, phone number, business name, role, account status and authentication-related information.
• Event, host and sponsor information: event titles, descriptions, dates, locations, pricing, capacity, photos, business information, public profile content, venue information, insurance status and application details.
• Booking and transaction information: reservation details, guest count, payment status, transaction identifiers, sponsorship selection and related records. Payment card details may be collected directly by a third-party payment processor rather than Local Host.
• Communications: questions, support requests, host or venue messages, reports, email preferences and other information you send to us.
• Device and usage information: IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps and similar technical information made available through our hosting, security or analytics providers.
• Browser-stored information: Local Host may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies for session state, preferences, interest indicators and functionality.

Sources of information

We collect information directly from you, from activity on Local Host, from hosts, sponsors or businesses involved in a transaction or request, and from vendors that help us operate the platform, such as hosting, security, email, analytics and payment providers.

How we use information

• Operate, secure and improve Local Host and its Redding, California event marketplace.
• Review host and sponsor applications and manage approved accounts.
• Create, review, publish and maintain event, host, venue and sponsor listings.
• Process or support bookings, sponsorships, payments, refunds and transaction records.
• Send account, application, event, booking, safety and service communications.
• Send marketing or community updates when permitted and honor applicable email preferences.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access and other security issues.
• Comply with law, enforce platform terms, resolve disputes and protect users, Local Host and the community.

Public information

Information intentionally submitted for a public event, host, venue or sponsor profile may be displayed publicly on Local Host. Do not submit information for publication that you do not want visitors to see.

How we disclose information

Local Host may disclose personal information to service providers and contractors that help provide hosting, authentication, security, email delivery, analytics, customer support, payments and other platform functions. We may also disclose information to a host, sponsor, venue or attendee when necessary to complete a request, booking or event-related interaction, and when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or the platform.

Local Host does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

California Notice at Collection

At or before collection, Local Host may collect the categories described above, including identifiers and contact information, commercial and transaction information, internet or network activity, approximate location inferred from technical information, and content you submit. We use these categories for the business and commercial purposes described in this policy. Local Host does not sell these categories or share them for cross-context behavioral advertising. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, account or transaction administration, safety, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, legal compliance and enforcement.

Payments

Payments may be handled by third-party payment providers. Their privacy practices govern information they collect directly. Local Host may receive transaction status, payment amount, identifiers and other information necessary to administer the transaction, but does not intentionally store complete payment card numbers in its own application database unless expressly disclosed.

Cookies, tracking and browser signals

Local Host may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies for essential functionality, preferences, security and measurement. Because there is not a single universally adopted standard for browser Do Not Track signals, Local Host does not currently respond to general Do Not Track signals. Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid universal opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, Local Host will honor that signal for the activity to which the law applies.

Data retention

Retention depends on the type of information and why it was collected. We may retain account and profile information while an account is active; transaction, payment and tax-related records for legally or operationally necessary periods; safety, dispute and enforcement records as needed to protect the platform; and other information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. No website, network or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Your choices and California privacy requests

You can use the preference link included in Local Host emails to manage marketing and event-update choices. You may also contact Local Host to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information associated with you, subject to identity verification and legal or operational exceptions. If the CCPA applies to Local Host and your information, you may also exercise any additional rights provided by that law without unlawful discrimination.

Submit privacy requests to letschat@wearelocalhost.com. Local Host may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

Local Host is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through account registration. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can review the situation.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Local Host, our vendors or applicable law changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. When required by law, we will provide additional notice before a material change takes effect.
