We wanted community to feel close again
Local Host was born from a desire to deeply connect with the people around us and restore a stronger sense of community within the town we call home.
The beginning
Redding has more to share than a calendar can show
Redding is a unique place. It brings together longtime locals, families, entrepreneurs, creatives, outdoor people, makers and people arriving with completely different stories. What can be difficult is knowing where those people are gathering and how to move from living in the same town to actually knowing one another.
Local Host was created to make those connections easier to find.

We believe a stronger community is built when people have more ways to meet one another, share what they know and create opportunities together.
Local Host is an invitation to the people who believe in Redding and want to be part of what it can become. The people, ideas, skills and relationships already here have the potential to create something meaningful when they are given more opportunities to connect.
How it can look
More ways for Redding to connect
That could mean bringing artists and creatives together for a workshop, helping families discover something new to do on a Saturday, connecting local businesses with the people around them, creating spaces for professionals to meet and exchange ideas, or making room for food, fitness, music, learning, outdoor experiences and community gatherings of all kinds.
By keeping Local Host rooted in Redding, our hope is that one connection can lead to another, one opportunity can create the next, and more of us can have a meaningful part in building the community we all get to call home.

Built to bring Redding closer.
Local Host was co-founded by Danielle Massey, founder of Hi I’m Danielle Studio, and Joshua Stallings, founder of JS Media. They brought their two local brands together around one shared idea: make it easier for people, events and businesses in Redding to actually find one another and build community from there.
