Disability support

Local Host wants people to know what they can expect before they arrive. California businesses and public accommodations have important duties to provide equal access and reasonable accommodations.

California-focused guidance. This page is designed to make Local Host expectations clear. It is general information, not individualized legal, insurance or medical advice. For an emergency, call 911.

If you are attending

  • Use the host question field before booking to ask about entrances, seating, restrooms, sensory needs, service animals or other access needs.
  • If the listing does not answer your question, contact the host or Local Host.
  • For an accessibility problem at a business or event, document the issue and use the report path when appropriate.

If you are hosting

  • Describe accessibility accurately. Do not guess.
  • Engage in a good-faith conversation about reasonable accommodations.
  • Do not discriminate because of disability or another protected characteristic.
  • Coordinate with the venue because physical access often depends on the property.

Need an accommodation before an event?
